Charlie Xu is a seasoned leader in the strata industry, recognised for his strategic thinking, community dedication, and leadership. In 2023, he partnered with Richard Reid to acquire and rebrand Stratabase Holdings Pty Ltd; combining their expertise to elevate the strata management services and bring a new perspective to the Stratabase brand.
With a deep understanding of property management, Charlie has been instrumental in driving growth and delivering tailored solutions to Owners Corporations and property developers. In 2019, he joined MBCM Strata Specialists Box Hill and expanded into MBCM Strata Specialists Hawthorn. In both regions, Charlie established a reputation for reliable, client-focused strata management.
Charlie’s leadership extends beyond business. In 2020, he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his contributions to Melbourne’s Chinese community. As a longstanding member of the Rotary Club of Box Hill Burwood, he served as President in 2022, exemplifying his commitment to service.

Outside of his professional life, Charlie is a devoted father of three and remains dedicated to family values and fostering relationships within the community.

Richard Reid has a long and successful history in business, with expertise honed over decades. After earning a Bachelor of Economics (majoring in Accounting) from Monash University, he joined Price Waterhouse (now PwC) in their Business Appraisal and Insolvency Services division. There, he gained practical insights into assessing and improving business performance.
Throughout his career, Richard has held senior roles, including Chief Operating Officer of Jim’s Group and MBCM Strata Specialists. He has also managed businesses owned by Gerry Ryan/Jayco and successfully run his own ventures. His extensive experience has been shaped by working with some of Australia’s most successful businessmen and entrepreneurs, applying his skills to manage and expand iconic Australian brands.
In 2023, Richard partnered with Charlie Xu to acquire Stratabase, combining their complementary skills to offer proactive and transparent strata management services. Together, they are committed to building trust with clients and delivering exceptional results.
Known for his high-energy approach and dedication to excellent customer service, Richard is a trusted advisor in the property industry. His deep understanding of property developers’ needs and passion for problem-solving make him a go-to expert in strata management.
Outside of work, Richard is a proud father of three, whose children are pursuing careers in marketing, international business, and accounting.
